Intro Post

fitiaHi, I'm Fitia! I'm 22 years old, and have a lot of specific opinions on various things that don't do so well as conversation starters at the family dinner table, so I put them on the internet. This is where I plan to put all of my wordier musings, which will be media/fandom-related for the most part, but might turn towards more ethical/philosophical/political thoughts if I happen to be in the mood.
Media-wise, I am these days most likely to be thinking about Ace Attorney (relatively new obsession) and Naruto (my longest-standing media passion and worst enemy), but I also talk here and there about any other anime/manga I've seen, or TV Shows/movies I've watched, or books I've read, etc etc. Thinking about stories is my favourite hobby in the world, and I do like having spaces to be unapologetic about it!
I've also passively been involved in fandom and fanfiction spaces for most of my formative years (mostly on Tumblr, occasionally on Twitter), am still involved in them, and have a lot thoughts in hindsight about all of my experiences and the trends, the discussions, and the... discourse, that I've come across. That also features in what I'll be talking about here.
My politics aren't something I intend to hide, especially given that they feature heavily in how I read and analyze stories to begin with: I'm still in the reading and learning process regarding currents/ideologies that I most stand by, so I don't identify with any, but I am as of now most sympathetic to Marxist/Communist thought. Very left-leaning in general. However, considering that I am still in the process of being better read, I do try to hold off on making declarative statements about the specifics of political ideology, and you'll most likely see me make personal observations about what I'm learning, and/or trying to parse theory.
I consider myself a very open-minded person, and try my best to approach what others say generously and in good faith. There's little I hate more about the current state of the internet than the jumping to conclusions before having sat and considered the whole meaning of what someone is trying to say. It's a difficult thing to be misunderstood, and worse when it's done so wilfully; so I make a point to be as understanding to others as is possible, and expect the same courtesy to be afforded to me.
