Intro Post

Hi, I'm Fitia! I'm 22 years old, and have a lot of specific opinions on various things that don't do so well as conversation starters at the family dinner table, so I put them on the internet. This is where I plan to put all of my wordier musings, which will be media/fandom-related for the most part, but might turn towards more ethical/philosophical/political thoughts if I happen to be in the mood.

Tumblr hasn't quite gone down or become unusable yet, so I still see myself being on there more often, but honestly... I've been looking around on this site for what has been exactly 24 hours, and I already see myself posting on here more frequently, eventually. The general vibe feels more suited to what I want to do, which is ramble on and on about nerdy things without that fear of a looming threat that anything I say is being put underneath a microscope and that I have to defend every sentence and statement I make individually. It's obviously not entirely personal, because this is still a public space, but it's certainly cozier. More relaxing.

I'll miss the community there once it's gone, but Dreamdwith journalling is something I'll be able to adapt to. If I need the chattier and more image-based form of social media, I'll still have my bluesky. It's comforting to know that my primary form of social media being more at risk of shutting down than ever doesn't have to feel so scary and final.

Customized my theme into something that I'm hoping is both a lot more readable and reasonably pleasant to the eye. I'm someone who's prone to changing her internet page layout frequently, regardless of the site I happen to be using, but I'm hoping to do less of that here because it's just very time-consuming in general, lol. I've also given up on attempting to make pages that happen to be extraordinarily aesthetically pleasing, mostly because I know that I'm... not exactly fantastic at graphic design, but also the instinct to make pages that look "pretty" is the exact thing that spurs me to change them so often in the first place. Might as well stick to something simple and consistent.
